Bloggers and rappers: separated at birth?
I missed this when it first came out. But I think it presents a highly credible thesis--heretofore unremarked upon-- on the deep and powerful affinities between rappers and bloggers.
Brian, do you listen to hip-hop? Can you name 5 rappers without using google? Perhaps you've given hip-hop a fair hearing, but it seems more likely you're just regurgitating some opinion you heard in 1990.
Back to the topic of rap/blog connections, I think this lyric from Mos Def is interesting. It's meant to describe hip-hop, but could equally apply to the blogosphere:
Stimulant and sedative, original, repetitive Violently competitive, a school unacredited...

I am a fan of this article, but I would have appreciated at least some discussion of the parallels between Chrenkin' Off and Gettin' Crunk.
